Commercial Plumber
When we do an underground water leak, just because that’s where that water is bubbling up doesn't necessarily mean that the leak is right under it. Especially if there's asphalt. If it's under a parking lot, or at a commercial property, we may dig 40 feet to find the water leak.

Drip Happens
We end up digging right there and then following the water back to the leak. Where we detect the water maybe 20 or 30 feet away before we find the source of the leak. I'd recommend not waiting a long time till you have a huge pond of water in your yard. That makes leak detection real hard.
Water Leak Detection Can be Tricky
We fix a lot of water leaks from something as simple as a dripping faucet to a big water main. At a commercial building, a 4-inch diameter pipe buried 6 feet in the ground can be the source of the water leak. You never know what to expect when a customer calls and tells you they have a water leak. And a lot of times it turns out to be something completely different. We train our plumbers to listen to the customer, but don't get tunnel vision on the explanation. A lot of times it will be an AC condensate drip that runs through and shows up in the sheet rock of the ceiling below. We go in there and it turns out to be an AC condensate, not an active potable water leak.

Commercial Water Heaters
In commercial kitchens or commercial restrooms, you see just the small little tankless water heater box mounted. Those aren't too bad to repair or change out. They've only got to put out a half gallon of water a minute. They're good for three showers at the same time. This is a common repair for our commercial plumbers.
